PVA dissolves in regular water, making it a useful support structure material for 3D printing. You can use it on complex geometries and hollow designs without worrying about removing the support. On the downside, PVA is highly sensitive to moisture. You should keep it dry and cool, otherwise it will become soft and sticky, leading to extrusion problems or print flaws.
